Integrity that Sings: The Kural on Goodness of Character

March 27, 2024 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

I’m delighted to be offering a free talk and Q&A about the Kural through the King County Library System in Washington State.

Here is the event description:

“In South India, the Kural is revered as a guide to practicing goodness and good sense in daily life. Yet this masterpiece of world literature, on par with the Tao Te Ching and the poetry of Rumi, has long lacked translations that make its guidance available in English.

“Translator and poet Thomas Hitoshi Pruiksma shares his journey with translating this seminal work and explores the astonishing relevance of the Kural today by delving into its conception of integrity, harmony, and the naturalness of goodness. He hopes you’ll come away feeling inspired, renewed, and reminded of truths that can help us to navigate times of great change with wisdom and grace.”

Please register in advance. You will be emailed a link no later than one hour before the program start time.
