A Musical Kural . . .

September 11, 2025

I’m delighted to announce that Volume I of Amirthavarshini and Lydian Nadhaswaram‘s extraordinary project of setting all 1330 verses of the Kural to music has just been released.

Here is the kural I was honored to sing in Tamil:

And here’s my own translation and short reflection on this beautiful verse:

May all our hearts overflow with love, and may all our tears be joyful!

Upcoming Appearances

Later this month I’m honored to be speaking at two important events, one in Canada and the other in the US. If you (or anyone you know) happen to live near either one, it would be a delight to meet you in person.

From September 19th to 21st I’ll be attending and speaking at the 6th International Thirukkural Conference in Toronto.

Then, the following week, I’ll be speaking in Jacksonville, FL, for a celebration organized by the Jacksonville Tamil Mandram on September 27th.

Don’t hesitate to contact me if you’ll be at either or have any questions!

More about my Kural translation
I’d like a copy of the Kural!
