DESCRIPTION:I’m very excited to announce my upcoming online course on the Kural\, Taller Than A Mountain. \nIt starts May 8\, with a free intro class on April 24: FACING TUMULT WITH INTEGRITY: The Kural\, Gandhi\, and Martin Luther King\, Jr. on Nonviolent Action. \nThe class will be held via Zoom at 6:00pm Pacific | 9:00pm Eastern | 6:30am India (April 25) | 9:00am Singapore (April 25) \nWe associate nonviolence with Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi\, whom King called “the guiding light of our technique of nonviolent social change.” What isn’t as well known is that Gandhi in turn was inspired by Tiruvalluvar and the Kural. \nA hidden thread thus joins the practical wisdom of classical Tamil\, Tiruvalluvar\, Gandhi\, and Dr. King.
